Decoding The Sight Word BIG

Orthographic mapping involves the formation of letter-sound connections. It extracts the word’s spelling and stores it in long-term memory as a sight word.

Page 1.
Name the word. Say the word BIG. Ask the child to repeat the word BIG.
Name the individual phonemes. Point out that the word BIG has three phonemes.
