Spelling AD Word Family Words

This worksheet teaches children AD word family words and engages different brain parts needed to learn a word.

How to use this worksheet:
Step 1. Ask the child to look at the picture and say the word BAD. Find the word BAD in the provided word bank and underline it. Ask the child to point to the word BAD and read it aloud.
Step 2. Write the word BAD under the picture. What letter spells the sound /b/? (b) Write the letter b. What letter spells the short vowel sound /a/? (a) Write the letter a. What letter spells the sound /d/? (d) Write the letter d. How do you spell the word cab? B-A-D
Repeat all words.
Optional Step. Ask the child to orally generate a sentence using the word BAD (or any other word from the word bank).

Children fluent in CVC words (mad, bad, pad, sad, lad, dad) can practice more complex words (grad, glad).
