Spelling AT Word Family Words

This worksheet teaches children AT word family words and engages different brain parts needed to learn a word.

How to use this worksheet:
Step 1. Ask the child to look at the picture and say the word CAT. Find the word CAT in the provided word bank and underline it. Ask the child to point to the word CAT and read it aloud.
Step 2. Write the word CAT under the picture. What letter spells the sound /k/? (c) Write the letter c. What letter spells the short vowel sound /a/? (a) Write the letter a. What letter spells the sound /t/? (t) Write the letter t. How do you spell the word cab? C-A-T
Repeat all words.
Optional Step. Ask the child to orally generate a sentence using the word CAT (or any other word from the word bank).

CVC words: hat, rat, pat, cat, fat, sat, bat, mat.
