Write OT Family Words

With this worksheet, kids develop phoneme categorization and segmentation skills when reading and writing OT family words.

How to use this worksheet:
Step 1. Ask the child to read each sentence twice. Each time he reads, ask him to color one apple.
Step 2. Ask the child to find and circle words ending -ot. Ask the child if those words have the same middle sound. (yes, /o/) Ask the child if those words end with the same sound. (yes, /t/) Ask the child to say the first sound and then the rest. (/d/ … -ot) Repeat with all words.
Step 3. Let the child write all words he found in the provided boxes. Now, let kids brainstorm and discuss two more words ending -ot. Then, write them down.
Step 4 (optional). Ask kids to generate two sentences using new words and share them orally.
