Teaching kids how to write in cursive requires lots of modelling, guided practice, and independent practice. Introduce letters in an order that groups similarly formed letters together. This way, kids gain practice and learn similar pathways as they form letters, before starting a new group of letters.

The following is an example of groups of letters that are formed using common pathways:

i, t, p, u, w, j
e, l, f, h
k, r, s
b, o, v
m, n, y, x, z

Fall A-Z Handwriting:

  • Uppercase and lowercase handwriting practice on one page.

  • Practice writing in cursive fall-related words on a separate page.

  • Compose two-three sentences with the provided fall-related words.

  • Write a short passage on a fall-related topic and draw a picture to support writing.

  • Adjust your child’s needs and choose from different horizontal ruling with a red baseline, broken midline with descender space. 1/2 inch recommended for second grade. 3/8 inch recommended for third grade. 3/8 inch horizontal ruling with a blue baseline only for fourth-grade students and up.

  • Comes in color, ink-saver, and B&W.

  • All letters are based on the ZB, HWT, and DN handwriting styles.

Occupations A-Z Handwriting:

  • Separate pages for uppercase and lowercase letters.

  • Each printable comes with additional practice on handwriting words (names and occupations that start with this specific letter).
