Decoding The Sight Word FUNNY

Orthographic mapping involves the formation of letter-sound connections. It extracts the word’s spelling and stores it in long-term memory as a sight word.

Page 1.
Name the word. Say the word FUNNY. Ask the child to repeat the word FUNNY.
Name the individual phonemes. Point out that the word FUNNY has four phonemes.
Spell each sound. Point out that the word FUNNY has five graphemes.
