Decoding The Sight Word USE

Orthographic mapping involves the formation of letter-sound connections. It extracts the word’s spelling and stores it in long-term memory as a sight word.

Page 1.
Name the word. Say the word USE. Ask the child to repeat the word USE.
Name the individual phonemes. Point out that the word USE has two phonemes.
Spell each sound. Point out that the word USE has three graphemes.
